“Twitter is not for you”: The Reign of Musk and Twitter’s Disregard for the Economically Crippled Man

I thoroughly enjoyed composing this piece of work. Writing in the style of a conversational online blog, I was able to illustrate my own experience as the embodiment of this coined term. In a world where social media is so incredibly prevalent, I find myself in a constant state of wanting more and yet, reminiscing on the days when mobile phones weren’t an option until they needed to be. Through a genuine understanding of how our minds have been warped to fit societal expectations at such a young age, I felt it important to offer some form of reminder that there is beauty the in comedic awkwardness of being young. Recalling some of my most enjoyably awkward moments allowed me to reflect on how, when speaking to younger generations – there is the realisation that some haven’t got to experience their early years as judgement-free as I got to. This piece aimed to capture both the appreciation for my unfiltered younger years, and my label as a ‘Zillennial’ that allows me to straddle two wonderful generations.
